Focusing quadrupole electromagnets with high gradient fields for synchrotron storage rings is vital to obtaining a low emittance and “state of art” performance synchrotron light sources. DANFYSIK has delivered magnets to leading synchrotron light sources worldwide.
Among the leading synchrotron light sources are Advanced Photon Source, APS U, at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago USA. APS U has sourced advanced high-gradient quadrupoles, sextupoles and dipoles at DANFYSIK. The multipoles are specially designed with high gradient enabled using Cobalt alloy pole tips.

Medical isotopes are used worldwide in hospitals for treatment and diagnostics. PET diagnostics, for cancer and other diagnostics, are using radioactive medical isotopes typically produced by a local PET Cyclotron.

The cyclotron is typically powered by a high-stability power supply by Danfysik. We have produced dedicated magnet power supplies for the majority of PET Cyclotrons.
