EPFL-18-kA-PS

High Current 2 Quadrant Power Supplies for the EDIPO Test Facility at EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne)

Project start 2007. Project completion 2009.

The 18kA PS will be used to power a large superconducting coil, the  European Dipole (EDIPO). This coil will produce a magnetic field of  12.5T in a large rectangular bore of about 100x150mm. This magnet will be the core element of a new facility dedicated to the qualification tests and the quality insurance tests of the superconducting cables for the ITER  project.
