ANL 10 Hz Power Supplies for the Main Coil

Project start 2007. Project completion 2009.

The APS Circularly Polarized Undulator (CPU) device requires two power supplies for its two coils.
One coil requires a unipolar power supply delivering a maximum current of 1600A. This power supply is required to change its output current within 0 and 1600A at a speed up to 1600A/10ms. The maximum repetition rate of the change is 10 Hz. The other coil requires a bipolar power supply to provide a current within ±400A. This current is required to change at a speed up to 800A/10ms. The maximum repetition rate of the change is 10 Hz.
